Poem for Landon's Teacher

Here is the poem I wrote for Landon's teacher. I put it in a card for her along with a picture of him in his cap and gown.

Thank You

In my mind I see the day so clear,
The day I had to let him go;
I had to tell him, "Don't be scared"
Without letting my own fears show.

How could I turn and walk away,
Surely my heart would break;
Seeing him so confused and scared
Was more than I could take.

How could anyone understand
Landon wasn't like the other kids;
Who would see past what was wrong
And love and accept him like I did.

I needed them to understand
His habits and his moods;
And that when he turned his back on you
He wasn't being rude.

If he didn't want to stay in his seat
Would they think that he was bad?
Would they know when he started to bite his hand
That meant that he was sad.

Looking back now I'm able to see
That God was in control;
In Landon's life he placed a teacher
Who would help him learn and grow.

Thank you Cherie for not giving up
And for encouraging US not to quit;
Landon loves you and he will miss you,
I know you will miss him too!

How did Cherie like it? You have given it to her already, right?
